WidgetBucks has seen a tremendous growth in their network since they launched earlier October this month. And as the network grows, grow with it is click fraud. As announced by WidgetBucks, click fraud is one of their biggest concerns.
Naturally, we have systems in place to detect click-fraud to ensure that it does not impact our advertisers and, in turn, the entire network of our thousands of publishers.
When our systems flag accounts with 10%, 20%, or even 90% (one customer even had 99%) of their clicks to be potentially fraudulent, we feel it’s important to move swiftly because we take it seriously.
Going forward, as potential-click fraud is flagged within an account, we will issue an email with a three-day warning. This will allow time to dialogue with a publisher over the suspicious activity. For accounts with activity that is so egregiously fraudulent, we will suspend those publishers immediately and without warning.
WidgetBucks has already suspended an undisclosed number of account primarily related to click-fraud.
WidgetBucks is a great opportunity and don’t be foolish and get your self banned. Technologies are sophisticated and networks like WidgetBucks has them in place. So trying to cheat will only get u a ban and your earnings forfeited.

Many newbies still don’t realize that it’s traffic that will give them money. They stop concentrating on developing the site to attract traffic and focus and getting clicks from here and there! And the end result loosing the opportunity. (Like the story of the goose giving a golden egg every single day and the owner killing it to get all once.)

I am currently using this but I also heard over at John Chow’s that WidgetBucks got banned from Google. Have you heard anything of this?

Hi Debo!
Yes it seems WidgetBucks got Google search Penalty. When you search, google for widgetbucks.com, their site doesn’t show up. This could be the result of multiple referral links pointing to the same content and Google imposed search penalty.
If you have observed, the new code widgetbuck’s announced yesterday doesn’t have referral link.
