Adsense has given the opportunity to monetize your traffic instantly for any kind of website in any market (Except those porn and anti-social crap) . And it could generate even more if you optimize it well.
There was no such opportunity existed prior to Adsense that made monetizing your site traffic so easy. This is indeed a wonderful opportunity.
But be careful! Some mistakes you do, ignorantly or knowingly, can put an end to this opportunity for you forever! So here is the list of things to avoid in order enjoying the fruits of this truly genuine online money making opportunity.
- Never ever click on your own Adsense Ads! I know new publishers get excited and they want to test, test how much they will earn? They are itching to see some amount in their Adsense account. And they do the most common mistake of clicking on their own Adsense Ads. Google’s state of art technology tracks your every click and every impression. They have a variety of sophisticated algorithms that will track your fraud clicks. So never ever click on your Adsense ads. Clicking on your own ads is violation of Google Adsense terms & conditions and you will be banned from Adsense.
- Don’t alter the Adsense code in anyway. Once you generate the code, just copy and paste as it is on your web page. Altering your code is violation of Google Adsense terms & conditions and you will be banned from Adsense.
- Don’t encourage visitors to click on ads by placing labels like click here etc. Any kind of language that tells your site visitors to click on your Adsense ads is violation of Google terms and conditions.
- Don’t participate in paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, auto-surf, and click-exchange programs. These programs offer incentives for users to view web pages or click on ads, resulting in activity that is directly violation of Adsense terms.
- Don’t align your ads with images in a way that misleads your visitors. Don’t place your ads in a way that suggests a relationship between the images and the ads. It applies with other media objects on your site like flash, videos etc.
Avoid using this faulty method to generate clicks. And let me tell you one thing, focus on your content and focus on your traffic and you will see your Adsense income automatically grows! Follow the rules and Make money!

“Don’t participate in paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, auto-surf, and click-exchange programs.”– glad you pointed this out. I also made a mistake advertising my site to GPT programs. i asked google about it and read the TOS again and it was a violation of the conditions. i also made a post about it in my blog.

Peaceful greetings from Jamaica. Here is a link to three posts outlining my Google AdSense sage. I carefully read all the AdSense restrictions, complied with them all and was still accused of cheating. They wouldn’t tell me what they felt I was doing wrong, just cancelled my account.
So now I blog on without them!
Bless Up,
Lady Roots
