In affiliate marketing, you make money primarily from commissions. You are paid when a visitor, sent through your affiliate link performs an action. Action could be registering on a site, buying a product or filling a lead form etc. So let’s take a look at the different ways of making money using affiliate marketing.
Pay-per-sale:
When someone buys a product or service through your affiliate link, the merchant pays you a percentage of the sale. Some merchants pay you a fixed amount for a sale.
Recurring Revenue:
In recurring income programs, merchants pay you a recurring commission on subscriptions and monthly services, such as web hosting. They can be very beneficial to you. This is because you receive commissions for as long as the customer pays their monthly subscription fee.
Pay-per-lead:
This type of affiliate program pays a flat fee for each qualified lead you send to the merchant site through your affiliate link. With pay-per-lead programs, you can make anywhere from 25 cents for a simple lead, to $25 or more for a completed loan application. Some of the best pay-per-lead programs come from insurance, mortgage, and loan applications.
Hybrid Programs:
Hybrid programs are the mix of above three payment models. Some programs pay you for lead and if it turns out into sale, you get additional commissions.
